ABOUT
ABOUT ME

My name is Tommy McDonald and I am a 2020 graduate from St. Olaf College in Northfield MN. I grew up in Northfield with my parents Matt and Barb and older sister Katie. I started my college career at Minnesota State Mankato and transferred to St. Olaf in 2018. I have a long line of history at St. Olaf with my dad, sister, aunt, and great great grandpa F. Melius Christiansen who started the St. Olaf choir.

WHAT I'VE DONE

I was a three sport athlete in high school playing Baseball, Basketball, and Football. I played baseball and Minnesota State for three years before transferring to Olaf where I continued to play for my dad Matt, who is the head coach. Sport has brought me into many leadership roles over the years and is the main component to why I am uprising this major and senior project around leadership.

WHAT I DO

I am a Entrepreneurial and Ethical Leadership major at St. Olaf. This is the study of effective entrepreneurial leadership, marketing and communication, in a way that’s ethical through human interaction. The intent of this major is to explore the relationship among these three concentrations, apply them to today’s society where communication and ethical leadership are key building blocks to successful leadership.
